MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA – The Citadel, an all-day dining, shopping and entertainment destination located in Miami’s historic Little River District in the Little Haiti neighborhood, has announced the opening of its sustainable retail space and learning center, Pivot Mkt, on September 28th.
The new concept is the first, all-inclusive marketplace to exclusively house sustainable brands in the United States. Pivot Mkt will open with thirty mini-stores from fashion, beauty, home and decor brands all with a deep commitment to sustainability, transparency, and social change.
“Pivot Mkt is an all-inclusive retail space for brands and consumers with values anchored in sustainability, transparency and fair trade,” said Alvaro De Jesus, project lead behind Pivot Mkt and co-founder of Nomad Tribe, one of the brands developing in Pivot.
“Pivot Mkt offers a unique experience for brands and shoppers alike, with goods and services that are truly beneficial to society, and the stories behind them at the forefront.”
In addition to the fashion, home and decor brands, the 7,200 sq. ft. space will offer a Sustainable Beauty Bar where consumers can try on and shop from plant-based, non-toxic body care products.
Pivot Mkt will also host a learning center dedicated to educating visitors on sustainability practices, with workshops, art installations, live presentations, and a recycling center for brands and consumers to use.
Pivot Mkt plans to add a bio fabrication and customization station to make its sustainable items even more personal. With space for up to forty brands, Pivot Mkt is a full-service retail solution for its vendors, offering staffing of its mini-stores, inventory management and sales analytics.
Through partnerships with various cultural and educational institutions, including the Salvation Army, Miami Fashion Institute, and others, Pivot Mkt will curate and host pop-up fashion and art installations throughout the year, including the collection of an up-and-coming MFI design student chosen through its annual contest.
To celebrate its grand opening, Pivot Mkt will host live sustainable fashion models in collaboration with Salvation Army and Miami Fashion Institute, a clothing swap and a sustainable fashion art exposition by Miami Dade Fashion Institute graduate Rachel Theodoro.
