MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA – Finding a great place to have a drink is not difficult in this city, but it is even better if such place happens to have unique and delicious specialty cocktails. While there are a number of Miami Beach locations that are fabulous, these are the top contenders whose cocktails and ambiance have a little more panache.
To start, South of Fifth (SoFi) patrons can rejoice in a little place that offers a long-lasting happy hour (5PM – 9PM) and original drinks. The Minibar is located at 418 Meridian Avenue, and drinks like the Cortadito of Cynar and Olmec Altos tequila with chili liquor and watermelon are a must.
The revamped Swizzle Rum Bar and Drinkery at the Stiles Hotel at 1120 Collins avenue, made quite a comeback this fall. Guests can enjoy over 150 types of rum, and many swanky cocktails, as well as learn the history of rum from the many photographs placed in their intimate walls.
Danilo Bozovic, Principal Partner of Swizzle, commented on his predicted choice of favorite drink for Miami Beach, “I think the Mamey Swizzle is a great representation and a delicious drink. Expect the Mamey to take over, and maybe the El Presidente twist we have.”
He also shared, “We are launching Tiki Mondays starting on November 11th. We will have specialty cocktails at promotional prices, and a featured menu.”
If attendees ever wondered where they might get a haircut and a good cocktail, they should look no further, than the innovative Blind Barber in Nautilus by Arlo at 1825 Collins Avenue. Guests can sneak in the back door to go straight to the speakeasy, or get a haircut first. The Arlo Margarita is a favorite, and they also offer small bites.
Not far-away, but with a more relaxed atmosphere that jams at 90’s beats, Sweet Liberty Drinks & Supply Co at Collins Park, invites guests to “pursue their happiness.” At Sweet Liberty it is all about the dancing, strong creative drinks like the three-rum Pina Colada with coffee and delicious food.
The W South Beach at 2201 Collins Avenue is a shrine for Miami partygoers and swanky tourists, and its lobby bar, Living Room Bar lives up to its reputation. It was founded in 2009, as “the first craft cocktail lounge in Miami,” Living Room invites you to “ Groove to our cool live DJ mixes or sip a mixed libation from the colorful cocktail list.”
A little further, midbeach at 2727 Indian Creek is the Broken Shaker at the Freehand Miami. A beach classic for the cool kids, offering innovative drinks made from garden herbs, syrups and infusion, pus backyard laid-back fun with a pool and even a ping pong hall.
As described by their own team, “Escape to our oasis and revel in the Tales of Cocktail’s award winning Best American Hotel Bar.”
Lastly, Miami Beach truly offers something for every taste and expense account. For the more posh guests, Living Room in Faena Miami Beach at 3201 Collins Avenue, might just be the spot to be. This upscale bar offers the most comfortable and luxurious sofas in town, live-jazz music and bespoke drinks.
It has been reviewed by attendees in Tripadvisor as “The Living Room I did not want to leave. Drinks fabulous, wonderful French bartender, most comfortable bar stools ever!” The must try is a signature house drink mix of Champagne, Aperol, hibiscus-laced vodka and rose water.
