Every month O&O Academy hosts a welcome to the full moon, with a selected trainer will guide the group through a little over an hour of peaceful meditation on the beach at South Pointe, photo internet recreation.

O&O Academy is an international philosophy and meditation school in southern India. On their web site they promise “Ours is a path of discovery. We are here to guide you to discover authentic inner power and peace. We make spirituality meaningful for everyday living.”

Every month the organization hosts a welcome the full moon with a selected trainer will guide the group through a little over an hour of peaceful meditation. Those joining will be able to soothe your mind to his voice, ancient chants, the smell of burning sage, and the sound of the crashing waves against the shore.

Just as the sun starts to set at 6:30 PM many gather with their towels and mats together in the spot where South Beach starts, to share this experience together. Although many are yoga practitioners, there is no experience or background required. As the O&O Academy says “It is a path of discovery. We are here to guide you to discover your authentic happiness.”

It is important to remember that, although it is Miami, locals are still enjoying the cooler temperatures of winter. So please check the weather for that day in particular, and take socks with you, because shoes must be removed. Perhaps bring a blanket as well because the idea is to be still for a long period of time to calm the mind, and distractions like a cold body are not ideal.

The meditation takes place in the sand, so there is no water or anything else offered, whatever you wish to have you must bring it yourself. The event is free of charge, and after you could enjoy one of South Pointe’s many wonderful locals to have dinner or perhaps a nice cup of tea, or just to walk and delight yourself in one of Miami’s most beautiful places.

This is a monthly event that many like to keep attending, and although it usually happens monthly at the time of every full moon, events and schedules do change. In case you miss this one, or wish to repeat the experience, the next one will take place on March 20th.

If mindfulness and yoga are of interest to you, there are many renowned studios in Miami Beach, one of them is Atmananda Yoga in South Pointe as well, Tropical Vinyasa, and Modo Yoga, are popular as well. However, a guided-beach meditation in this gorgeous location is an event that is hard to match and should not be missed.
