Art Films: Walking on Water @ O Cinema South Beach (Miami Beach) – Co-presented by Oolite Arts and O Cinema at their new theatre in the former Miami Beach Cinematheque space, Art Films presents the best of films by and about artists paired with food & mimosas, followed by a post-film discussion.
This edition will feature the screening of Walking on Water, an uncensored look into the process and personal relationships of the renowned artist Christo as he sets out to realize The Floating Piers, a project he conceived many years prior with his late wife Jeanne-Claude. The film, which world premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival, will be followed by a Q&A with director Andrey Paounov.
The Menu includes Brunch catered by Cafe Creme, frittata served with bread and jelly, bagel and smoked salmon, an assortment of mini-quiches (goat cheese and mushroom, chicken, leek, lorraine, spinach, and provençale), fruit salad, beverages, coffee, orange Juice, iced tea, mimosas.
The Film: Ten years after the passing of his wife and creative partner, Jeanne-Claude, Christo sets out to realize The Floating Piers, a project they conceived together many years before. Boasting uncensored access to the artist and his team, Walking on Water is an unprecedented look at Christo’s process, from the inception through to the completion of his latest large-scale art installation, a dahlia-yellow walkway atop Italy’s Lake Iseo that was eventually experienced by over 1.2 million people.
The film takes the viewer on an intimate journey into Christo’s world amid mounting madness – from complex dealings between art and state politics to engineering challenges, logistical nightmares, and the sheer force of mother nature. Captured through breathtaking aerial views and fly on the wall camerawork, we watch the artist’s vision unfold, and get to know the man chasing it.
Tickets: $25 General admission, $5 for Oolite Arts alumni + Resident Artists, (email email@example.com for the promo code).

LOUNGES, BARS & PUBS:
Bodega South Beach (South Beach)
When you first show up at Bodega, you could easily mistake it for a popular neighborhood taqueria. Look around for a guy with an earpiece at the back of the room and tell him your friend sent you, and you might just get directed to a back door that looks like an entrance to a Porta Potti. Pass through here and you’ll enter a graffiti-filled men’s washroom. It’s only after passing through yet another door that you will enter one of South Beach’s hot hidden nightclubs. The mixologists have an extensive menu that relies heavily on “illegal” mezcal, and the DJ keeps the room pumping all through the night. It caters to a friendly, over 21’s crowd and makes for a good introduction to the South Beach scene minus the cover charge and lineups that you’ll find at clubs closer to the beach.
Bodega South Beach – Monday – Sunday from 12PM – 4AM.

Mac’s Club Deuce ♣️ (Miami Beach)
Laid-back ambiance, rustic decor, pool tables & jukebox make this SoBe institution a local hangout. What Mac’s Club Deuce has done in South Beach is nothing short of a miracle. Miami Vice threw its cast party here. Playboy named it one of the best bars in America. And the late Anthony Bourdain said it was one of his favorite spots in the world. In a city that changes like an indecisive chameleon, an island always for sale to the highest bidder, Mac’s joint has remained a pristine, neon-lit paradise untouched by outside forces.
